LONDON 2009 MARATHON DRAW ON SATURDAY 6th DECEMBER

There are 3 or 4 Places up for grabs this year. (pending confirmation)

To qualify for the draw you must have entered this years Ballot and received a reject notification. The reject notification must be presented to the Club Secretary by Friday 5th December in order to qualify for the draw.  No entry for the draw will be allowed for forms presented on the 6th December.

In addition to being in possession of a reject notification you must also meet the criteria of the Ware Joggers rule for allocation of club places, which are as follows:

  • be a first claim, fully paid up member
  • have minimum of 9 months continuous membership
  • have supported the club on at least 15 occasions since 1 st Jan 08 & before 1 st July 08
  • have supported the club on at least 15 occasions after 1 st July 2008 and before 1 st December 2008

Below is the full rule for qualification for the London Marathon draw.

Allocation of Club Places for Major Events

  1. A ballot shall determine any places allocated to the Club for major events, such as the London marathon.
  2. First claim, fully paid-up members who wish to be considered for the ballot shall:-
    • have a minimum of nine months continuous membership;
    • have supported the Club on at least 15 occasions before the 1 st July in the year of the ballot;
    • have supported the Club on at least 15 occasions after the 1 st July and before 1 st December in the year of the ballot;
      and,
    • be in possession of the appropriate rejection slip.
  3. Members who are allocated a Club place shall not be eligible for the ballot the following year.
  4. In the event of there being more eligible members than Club places available then second and third members drawn out of the ballot shall be considered as “standby” in the event of injury or withdrawal of the successful member, subject to any rules and regulations specified by the event organiser.
  5. The Club shall not apply any form of discrimination, (age, sex, or ability) to places subject to ballot unless previously specified by the event organiser.
