TRAINING BEGINNERS

Ware Joggers are keen to encourage anyone that may be interested in taking up running. We have been running 10 week courses aimed at the complete beginner since 1992. Our UK Athletics qualified coaches run the courses and they have a wealth of experience working with all levels of runners from complete beginners to marathon runners. We also have a number of very experienced club runners who assist with the training when required.

During this course, participants will come to realise that jogging is a great way to improve fitness. The beginner's course incorporates walking and jogging which builds up cardiovascular and muscular endurance to become fit safely. Over the 10 weeks, participants can work at their own pace in both a supportive and welcoming environment.

It is not necessary to join the club to take part in one of our courses but we do make a small charge of £1 per week. We do not expect people to automatically join our club on completion of the course; many use their newfound fitness to go onto other sports.

Should you decide to join us on completion of the course then you will be more than welcome.

Many of our members who have come through the training programme have gone on to become very accomplished runners. Our second eldest member, now 75, came through our training programme and has gone on to complete 12 marathons.

There are usually two courses a year and we like to keep the numbers on the course to a maximum of 20.

For those already enrolled on our Autumn course; the 1st session starts at 7.00 PM on
Thursday 7th August 2008
Thereafter the sessions start at 7.30 PM
