I ran the Cambridge half in July 1990, by golly, was it hot!! over 90 degrees F with runners flaking out all round the nice flat course.
But with a bottle of water in each hand, one to drink and the other to pour over my head, I managed to finish in 2 hrs. and recorded at the time, ' quite enjoyable ' the first time I ran Folkesworth; right at the other end of the temperature scale. first time round the 2 lapper, sheet ice on the roads so we had to run on the grass verges, but still liked the course.

It's a bit late to post this, but can I say thank you for all your hugs and support last Sunday? I know I was a bit emotional, but I've been out 6 months and at one point I really thought I wouldn't run again, or even walk much. What I right nice lot you all are. Mwah xxxxxxxxxx

General Interest - Wodson Corporate membership

Hi Everyone
This is to let you know that over 70 of us who were at the AGM on Tuesday decided unanimously to accept Wodson's offer.

That means that from 1 July Wodson will want to see Wodson Corporate membership cards from Joggers, or expect those of you who choose not to take up the offer to queue and pay £1 each time you come up to Club (and meantime if you're not a Wodson member).

The Club will collect the Corporate fee from members and pay it to Wodson quarterly.

The Club membership form has been amended to take account of this, Colin and I are finalising the online version, it should be available tomorrow hopefully. There will be hard copies at Club from this evening.

For those 139 of us who have already renewed membership for this year there is a supplementary form to fill in, so that you can show which card you want and whether you are paying the Corporate fee. Unfortunately we can't get that online, so I've attached a copy for anyone who is not due to come to Club soon, to leave with Wodson reception.

We are hurrying to have the Corporate membership cards printed. I'll email again when they are available. I'll have Social membership cards at Club tonight.
Thanks for all the messages of support
I'll happily try to answer any queries

Now in its 3rd year of running, this lovely 5k or 10k run around the woods surrounding Haileybury is a lovely local event that some WJ's might like to pre-enter. Some of you did it last year and had a fun time and whilst a small entry last year, the organisers want to grow this in size and popularity. Pre-entries are available on this link 8-)

http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/events/viewevent.asp?sp=&v=2&EN=68651&ms=
