Why join Ware Joggers?

You could run on your own, or you could join a friendly group for everyone from beginners to competitive runners.

What you get here is more than that. You get structure, consistency, coaching, and a club full of people who turn up week after week and help each other keep going.

Our sessions are organised by pace and purpose, so you can train at the right level. Whether your aim is to get fitter, run your first race, or keep improving over time, there is a clear place for you here.

And because Ware Joggers is affiliated to England Athletics, membership also opens the door to team racing opportunities and championships that free running clubs cannot access.

"We have runners across a wide range of ages and abilities. Sessions are structured so everyone trains at the right level."

Common questions

No. We have runners across a wide range of ages and abilities, and sessions are structured so everyone trains at the right level. If you're brand new to running, our Beginners' Course is the ideal starting point.

Not at all. Racing is available if you want it, but many members simply enjoy the training, company and structure without ever entering a race.

Yes. Ware Joggers is for everyone from beginners to competitive runners.

Individual EA affiliation is optional, but it gives you discounts on licensed race entry fees and official EA registration. Ware Joggers being an EA-affiliated club is also what allows us to enter leagues and championships.

Not necessarily, but it's worth considering if you regularly attend sessions at Wodson Park. It gives you discounted access to all Wodson facilities and avoids the £1 visitor fee on club nights.

Many of our sessions make use of Wodson Park, and Ware Joggers has a long-standing arrangement with Wodson that gives members access to discounted corporate membership rates. This is an optional add-on, but it is a worthwhile choice for members who regularly attend sessions at Wodson Park or want to make wider use of the facilities.

For 2026/27, the Wodson Corporate Membership rate for Ware Joggers members is £47 per year, compared with the normal price of £55. The concessionary rate is £39 per year.

Joining part-way through the year costs less:
After 30th June - standard rate £35.25 (concessionary rate £29.25)
After 30th September - standard rate £23.50 (concessionary rate £19.50)
After 31st December - standard rate £11.75 (concessionary rate £9.75)

Concession rates apply to members who are aged 60+, registered disabled, Carer’s Passport holders, or receiving Universal Credit.

Wodson membership gives you discounted rates across the centre, including gym and fitness classes, track use, and access to the members’ café and bar. New gym users can attend a free induction.

If you do not take the Wodson membership, a £1 visitor fee applies each time you use Wodson Park facilities on club nights.

Once your form and payment have been received and approved, you will receive a confirmation email and can get started with the club.

You can get free entry to the cross-country and Midweek League championships that Ware Joggers competes in during the year.

This is a genuine membership benefit. These races are only open to England Athletics affiliated clubs, so members of free running clubs cannot enter them.

The championships are inclusive, friendly and open to a wide range of ages and abilities. You do not need to be one of the faster runners to enjoy them. For many members, they become one of the best parts of being in the club.
