About the Handicap Races
Each year we have a series of 3-6 x 5K (ish!) races within the club. They are held during normal club sessions and are intended to be fun and social events open to any club member. As every runner is given a hadicapped time, the races are designed such that anyone can win.
Handicap times are worked out based on recent race times, parkruns or just by watching people run.
Generally, if a runner has not run the course in the past, their first race will be used to benchmark and they will be allocated a handicap time. This race will not score points.
The course is well marshalled and undulates over a single lap in the beautiful countryside around Ware, starting and finishing in Thundridge.
The race starts and finishes just under the A10 at Wadesmill (what3words: gross.spicy.healers).
