Ware Joggers are keen to encourage anyone who may be interested in taking up running. We have been running 10 week courses aimed at the complete beginner since 1992.
The course will take non and lapsed runners from zero to 50 minutes continuous running over a ten week period. You'll meet at Wodson Park every Tuesday evening, from 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start and sessions will last approximately one hour. You will have the support of an England Athletics Coach or Run Leader, and a group of “buddies” from the club. The in-person sessions tend to be Tuesdays, and you will be set two additional pieces of homework each week to complete on your own or with your new running friends from the course, before the next in-person session.
During these courses, participants come to realise that jogging is a great way to improve fitness. The beginners' course incorporates walking and jogging which builds up cardiovascular and muscular endurance to become fit safely. Over the 10 weeks, participants can work at their own pace in both a supportive and welcoming environment.
Beginners' Courses
Ware Joggers offer one beginners' course a year, usually from January to April.
The cost of the course is £40, which is non-refundable, and includes all your running sessions, and a t-shirt and medal on completion of the course. It also includes full membership of Ware Joggers for the following year.
You will need to purchase/bring your own hi-vis vest and it is recommended that you invest in a running light.

It is hoped that we will be able to help course graduates have the confidence to join our club general runs, training sessions and to participate in a club race, The Ware Festival of Running, which usually takes place early July over 10km and 10 miles.
